The Environmental Pick up Along the Rockcorry to Cootehill road, on Saturday 24th Of February 2007 started at Tanagh Outdoor Pursuits Centre.
We had a very good turn out of people to pickup the litter on the day. Rockcorry Tidy town helpers started at Rockcorry and finished at the Dartrey Monument and from the Dartrey Monument to the County river bridge, beside Coolehill this stretch of road was done by the Tanagh Outdoor Pursuit’s and the Dartrey Heritage Association helpers along with some of our good supporters and local people, soon a skip was full and there was plenty more to gather, a large tractor trailer was got and it was also filled.
We would like to thank the Tanagh Outdoor Pursuit Centre for the use of their toilets and wash room and supplying the helpers with a bowl of soup and eats, it was so good to have a place to go to for a break and to sit down and have a rest before returning to pick up other people’s rubbish dumped along side of a public road.
Thanks to Monaghan County Council for supplying us with the necessary equipment and safety signs and protection to do the job and also for disposing of the rubbish that was gathered on the day.
Tanagh Outdoor Pursuits Centre
Rockcorry Tidy Town’s & Cootehill Tidy Town, are having a Environmental Pick up Along the Rockcorry to Cootehill road, on Saturday 24th Of February 2007 starting at Tanagh Outdoor Pursuits Centre 10.00 am. All equipment needed will be supplied. Soup-kitchen will be open in Tanagh Outdoor Pursuits Centre for all who take part.
