Members of the Society enjoy the wide range of events we run every year. These include talks, tours, conferences and work with local schools. Our events calendar is decided in February and our first event is the Annual General Meeting, which takes place in early March - click here for a full list of this year's events. We often co-operate with other organisations in running events and we are particularly grateful to the staff of the county museums and libraries for their wonderful support. Many of our events are open to the public and we encourage our members to bring along their friends and relatives. To give you an idea, some of our events over the past few years are pictured in our online gallery. If you have any suggestions for future events, we'd love to hear from you by phone, letter or via our online contact form.
From time to time, and dependent on availability of volunteers/staff and external funding, the Society takes on projects additional to its core work. These are always in line with the constitutional aims of the Society. To see what additional projects have been carried out recently, click here.
