Corduff/Raferagh Heritage Group
Corduff/Raferagh Heritage Group was formed in May 2000. The group meets once per month to discuss items of local interest. Our meetings are held in the Heritage Room in Corduff/Raferagh Community Centre at 8.30 pm on the last Wednesday of each month. We are always delighted to welcome new members.
The first project we undertook was to erect a plaque at the site of a famine 'stir about house' at Corkishduff. An ecumenical service was held at the site, followed by a very interesting presentation on the effects of the famine in our area by Mr. Brian McDonald of Clogher Historical Society.
Over the past few years we have celebrated Mass or a prayer service at the Mass Rock in Greaghlatacapple.
We have organised numerous events e.g.
Heritage walk across Corduff Mountain led by Mr. Larry McDermott.
Hedge school presentation.
We visited Hennigans Heritage Farm outside Swinford in Co. Mayo, Doagh Famine Village in Co. Donegal and Omagh Folk Park, Co. Tyrone.
