An Taisce - 'The Store House, or Treasury' is The National Trust For Ireland. Established in 1948, it is the
most influential environmental body in Ireland.
Cavan/Monaghan Rural Development
This local development organisation has a dedicated heritage officer for the counties of Cavan and Monaghan.
Irish Historic Houses
Association
Incorporated as a company with charitable status in 2008. Works for the preservation of Ireland's remaining
historic houses, for Ireland's cultural heritage.
The Council of National Cultural
Institutions
A statutory body established under the Heritage Fund to facilitate the pooling together of talent, experience
and vision.
County Monaghan Heritage Office
The Heritage Office of Monaghan County Council is responsible for the development and implementation of a
heritage plan for the county.
Heritage Council of Ireland
Established as a statutory body under the Heritage act 1995. Its role is to propose policies and priorities
for the identification, protection,
preservation and enhancement of national heritage.
Heritage Lottery Fund
Set up by Parliament in 1994 to give grants to a wide range of projects involving the local, regional and
national heritage of the United Kingdom.
Irish Heritage Trust
Launched in 2006, the Irish Heritage Trust will acquire, through negotiation and tax incentives, historic
properties, houses and gardens that will be open
for everyone's enjoyment forever.
Irish Landmark Trust
The Irish Landmark Trust is a charitable organisation founded in 1992 that saves heritage buildings at risk of
being lost through neglect or inappropriate intervention.
We then give the buildings a future by letting them for self-catering holidays in Ireland.
